Summary
Rx relief is among the nation’s leading specialty pharmacist placement firms and is seeking a Director of Pharmacy in the West Los Angeles, CA area. As a Director of Pharmacy, you will review prescriptions to assure accuracy, to ascertain the needed ingredients, and to evaluate their suitability and act as manager of the inpatient acute pharmacist team.
Responsibilities
* Providing information and advice regarding drug interactions, side effects, dosage, and proper profiles and files, charge system files, inventories, control records for radioactive nuclei, or registries of poisons, narcotics, or controlled drugs * Compounding and dispensing medications as prescribed by doctors and dentists, by calculating, weighing, measuring, and mixing ingredients, or oversee these activities * Planning, implementing, or maintaining procedures for mixing, packaging, or labeling pharmaceuticals, according to policy and legal requirements, to ensure quality, security, and proper disposal * Teaching pharmacy students serving as interns in preparation for their graduation or licensure * Advising customers on the selection of medication brands, medical equipment, or healthcare supplies medication storage * Assessing the identity, strength, or purity of medications * Maintaining records, such as patient
Ideal Candidate
As a Director of Pharmacy you must have proven experience with inpatient acute care in a hospital setting in a manager role. Additional requirements of the Director of Pharmacy include: * 3-5 years of management experience * Experience in managing 30 full time employees * Experience in acute care * Clean and active California Pharmacist License
