Summary
The Electrical Engineer will be responsible for the electrical design, architecture planning and development, and modification of existing and new avionics products for commercial aircraft over the entire product life cycle, from conceptual, preliminary, and final design through the manufacturing production, test and validation, and service life of the product line.
Responsibilities
* Define and execute product electrical design details that support efficient manufacturing and service, reliable performance, materials affordability, and robust construction. * Perform FPGA and CCA design with in-depth analog, RF and digital circuit development, troubleshooting, and analysis of product design characteristics * including BITE philosophy and investigating failure reports. * Manage obsolescence issues and necessary redesign for replacement of obsolete parts and implementation of product improvements and specific customer requests. * Utilize expertise in CAD and CAE tools for product design and analysis, and promote effective use of standard tools and practices among the electrical engineers. * Participate in PDRs and CDRs and peer reviews with technical teams to examine and record electrical engineering findings for corrective actions.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline. * Proficient experience (preferably 5+ years) in electrical engineering. * Expertise with electronics lab test equipment, manufacturing processes, assemblies and subassemblies, electrical wiring diagrams, FPGA design or CCA development, and schematic entry. * Experience with CAD/CAE design tools and experience with Graphical Modeling Language with Simulation (e.g. Matlab, Simulink, Stateflow, Statemate, Scade, Enterprise Architect). * Experience developing embedded systems with Ethernet, USB, RS232/422, ARINC 429, ARINC 618, ARINC 739, ARINC 629, ARINC 661, ARINC 664, Video / Display Interfaces, Discrete I/O and/or Analog I/O, and DO-160, DO-178B, and DO-254 product and process development standards. Working knowledge of how these standards are utilized in the STC process, particularly DO-254. * Knowledge of AS-9100/ISO-9001 and capable of writing electrical documentation that comply with these standards.
