Summary
Kinetix™ integrated motion is a combination of architecture, world class Allen-Bradley motion products, and motion application expertise. It's ideal for applications in packaging, material handling, assembly, converting, and many others. Several Allen-Bradley servo drives/motors offer the benefits of Kinetix integrated motion, providing a choice of drives for improved performance in both single axis and multi-axis applications. The Hardware Development Engineer is responsible for the research, specification, design, analysis, test, and integration of digital and analog electrical hardware within motion control servo drive products. The candidate must have a solid foundation in digital and analog circuit design, excellent documentation and communication skills, strong analytical capabilities and solid troubleshooting ability.
Responsibilities
The position will have design responsibility in all aspects of the new product development process including concept generation, detailed design and analysis, verification testing, cross functional reviews, and manufacturing release. The Hardware Engineer must work well in a team environment and interface with other functional groups such as Manufacturing, Quality, Marketing, Purchasing and outside suppliers.
Ideal Candidate
**Minimum Qualifications:** * Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar technical degree required plus 2 years of engineering experience or Masters degree. * Experience in the fundamental EE concepts (circuit analysis, control theory, and electromagnetic) * Experience in PCB layout, EMI reduction techniques/modeling and signal integrity simulation tools. * Experience in the use of circuit modeling tools; i.e. SPICE. * Experienced and detail oriented in the organization of documentation related to design concepts and validation/testing. * Demonstrated expertise in laboratory testing and experience with test equipment including oscilloscopes, data acquisition equipment, spectrum analyzers, etc. * Legal authorization to work in the US is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas, now or in the future, for this job opening **Desired Qualifications:** * FPGA design and implementation experience. * Understanding of embedded systems and their development. * Embedded firmware development experience to test hardware. * Understanding of the architecture, specification and hardware design in the area of motion control systems or industrial power conversion equipment (servo drives, industrial drives, and traction drives). * Experience with analog design of signal conditioning and filter circuitry * Understanding of statistical methods and design analysis in a product development environment.
