Instructional/Support Faculty

FOUNDED IN 1829, Rochester Institute of Technology is a privately endowed, coeducational university with nine colleges emphasizing career education and experiential learning. Teach two technical theater classes and one section of Theater Practicum per semester. Serve as designer for 3-4 theater productions per year. Assist in mounting theater outreach tours. Supervise student workers for up to10 hours per week. Work with program director and technical theater faculty and staff.

* BA with professional experience in technical theater or MFA in technical theater. Successful teaching experience and experience as a theater artist. Must enjoy working with undergraduates majoring in non-theater programs. Ability to work in a collaborative environment. Strong budgeting, planning, and organization skills. Knowledge of CAD and online learning. Commitment to study Deaf culture and learn American Sign Language. * Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and familiarity with Deaf culture strongly preferred. Candidates who are not fluent in American Sign Language must commence learning immediately (by enrolling in ASL courses) and be able to demonstrate proficiency within two years of hire. * Ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the college’s continuing commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism, and individual differences. **Required Minimum Education Level** * MFA * BA
