Summary
We are seeking an individual who has the ability and interest in contributing to a community committed to Student Centeredness; Professional Development; Integrity and Ethics; Respect, Diversity and Pluralism; Innovation and Flexibility; and Teamwork and Collaboration. This is a 12 month, non-tenure track position for a Lecturer and Program Director for the Health Systems Administration (HSA) programs within the College of Health Sciences and Technology. The M.S. in Health Systems Administration builds on a foundation of courses in policy and law formation, healthcare economics, finance, insurance reform, innovation, information technology, systems, operations and leadership. The course work is built on a foundation of skills and knowledge sets identified and endorsed by national healthcare leadership organizations. Graduates of the program are prepared to assume clinical and business leadership roles across the diverse healthcare industry. The department also offers an Advanced Certificate in Health Care Finance and an undergraduate Certificate in Health Systems Administration.
Responsibilities
This faculty member will work closely with the Vice Dean and Dean of the College to provide oversight for the program and to contribute to a strategic plan of approach geared toward expansion of the existing curriculum and degree options. The initial period of strategic planning will be undertaken in collaboration with other faculty of the college and across RIT and with community partners to pave the way for updated course offerings, new academic programming, and expansion of medical community collaborations. The Health Systems Administration program is currently partnering with numerous RIT academic departments. A joint MS degree in Healthcare Interpreting with NTID will be launched this year. Joint programs with industrial engineering and information technology are in the development stages and require a leader who can work collaboratively across the colleges of RIT and within the diverse segments of the health care industry as we develop professional degrees to meet patient and employer needs. The program director serves the primary advisor for the students in the Health Systems Administration program.
Ideal Candidate
**Required Minimum Qualifications** * Masters degree required; Doctorate preferred * Administrative experience required; 3 years minimum preferred * Teaching experience at the undergraduate or graduate level in any of the areas identified in the job description required; 3 years minimum preferred; teaching at the graduate level preferred Experience with delivery of on-line curriculum strongly preferred * Knowledge and ability to teach in broader area of healthcare such as health care finance, law, leadership, operations or information technology would be optimal * Ability to contribute in meaningful ways to the college’s continuing commitment to cultural diversity, pluralism, and individual differences. **Required Minimum Education Level** * MS, MA
