Loss Control Manager

Under general management, lead the loss control services for Transportation. Maintain and update network of outside resources and manage loss control services for Commercial Auto risks, including truck, bus, and specialty auto insureds, incorporating new technologies where possible.

* Maintain oversight of assessment of commercial auto risks and act as liaison to outside vendors while building a loss control team within RLI Transportation. * Review loss control reports for quality and consistency and work with insureds to implement recommendations. * Manage customized loss control services for specific accounts when needed or desired. * Coordinate analyses with Claim staff and Underwriters. * Maintain online and internal on-demand loss control resources. * Leverage technology to assist insureds in reducing loss.

* Ability to use analytical methods to determine techniques to help insureds reduce their risk of loss. * Ability to work with technology to assess insureds’ risk of loss and provide methods for reducing such risk. * Ability to communicate effectively with brokers, vendors (including loss control), underwriting and claims staff. * General knowledge and understanding of commercial auto risks and operations **Required Experience** Requires a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Risk Management, or related field 5-8 years of experience in a related position. In lieu of degree, 10+ years of experience is required. Incumbent should possess strong written and verbal communications skills when communicating with brokers, vendors, and underwriting staff.
