Summary
The data scientist will contribute to the scientific advancement of Riviera business and product initiatives working with partner teams. Focus will be on complex matching problems. This role will work closely with recruiters, product managers and engineering teams to create models and logic for improving document tagging, feature extraction, optimization the quality of matching. The role will also design experiments and measure improvements opportunities with business units in turning pilot projects or prototypes into models and algorithms in product platforms.
Responsibilities
* Work in a broad capacity: work cooperatively with manager and peers to design algorithms, build products and produce analyses. * Analytics thought leader – build thought leadership across business units to promote common best practice in data process and analytical technique, and share insights and findings. * Data Science – Using a variety of techniques, build models, simulations and analyses to help frame decisions, requirements and designs around key complex business problems; develop, implement, and evaluate statistical models to predict or describe behavior and patterns.
Ideal Candidate
* Hands-on experience as a data analyst working with large Internet and Mobile data sets. * Experience with statistical learning models, behavioral models and game theory a plus. * Degree in a quantitative field: Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, Operations Research, Computer Science, or a related field. Extremely strong quantitative and logical problem solving skills. * Experience working with other data scientists from across multiple disciplines (Machine Learning, Applied Math, Statistics, Optimization, Economics/Econometrics). * Strong ability to partner and stay open-minded to exchange ideas with other functions. * Proven ability to analytically support/build complex logic and algorithms. * Experience with supporting platforms development text mining experience a plus. * Experience working in a dynamic, fast paced, cross-functional environment. * Ability to communicate effectively to technical and non-technical audiences in engineering, business, product and executive areas. * Expert knowledge of data mining technique and tools with Python, R, Matlab, etc. is required. * Expert proficiency interrogating relational data bases with SQL and with using, managing workload with distributed computing tools (Map/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, etc.) is desirable. * Initiative and ability to seek and take responsibility. High attention to detail, data accuracy and quality of output. * Must be a highly collaborative and courageous thought leader willing to be the objective voice of the data to the rest of the company. * Hands on, results-driven who can work with extreme efficiency, excited to learn new things, forge new areas of understanding, and enable other teams to manifest them.
