Responsibilities
Essential Functions - 30% - Manages Facebook, Google+, Twitter, YouTube, blog and other social media platforms as a content developer; produces engaging copy and images; monitors, responds to and contributes to online discussions; develops effective social media strategies and campaigns to increase the college's reach, audience and awareness about the college's programs and services. - 30% - Serves as a social media administrator by managing user accounts and passwords; updates and upgrades video uploads and libraries; analyzes and generates user reports and troubleshoots technical problems. - 20% - Initiates and maintains contacts throughout the college to gather information, story leads and materials for social media posts, print features and web publications; monitors and archives media coverage of the college. - 15% - Writes and edits copy for collateral and other multi-media college communications; helps photograph events and subjects to accompany articles and social media posts; treats photographs and performs basic graphic design functions to enhance images. - 5% - Attends college and district meetings/trainings; performs related duties as assigned.
Ideal Candidate
Minimum Qualifications - 1. - Associate degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or equivalent program of study 2. - Professional experience managing Facebook, Google+, Twitter, YouTube and other social media platforms 3. - Demonstrated ability to write, edit and publish copy for social media and other public relations communications 4. - Strong technical skills and aptitude working with software and equipment related to the position's functions such as photo editing software, MS Office Suite, computers and digital cameras Desired Qualifications - Bachelor's or higher earned degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing or related field 2. - Two (2) or more years' experience as a social media content developer 3. - Two (2) or more years' experience as a social media administrator 4. - One (1) or more years' experience using social media analytic tools 5. - Two (2) or more years' experience working with digital media equipment 6. - Two (2) or more years' experience writing print and web copy 7. - One (1) or more years' experience using AP style 8. - One (1) or more years' experience working in higher education
Compensation and Working Conditions
Annual Pay $41,986 - $49,859

Social Media Strategist Special Working Conditions Some evenings or weekends may be required; prolonged computer monitor viewing and sitting required; ability to lift up to 20 lbs; occasional travel required; must meet district minimum standards
