Summary
The Area Manager is responsible for the management of his or her assigned team or geographic area, and is responsible for the accuracy, efficiency, reliability and profitability of inventories performed by his or her assigned team or within his or her geographic area. This includes planning workflows and staff deployment for inventories; meeting with clients to plan the events, and the management and supervision of inventory event supervisors and employees (Team Members). The Area Manager will interview and select prospective new hires to build elite teams, counsel, train and discipline team members, resolve employee complaints and concerns and have authority to terminate members of the Area Manager’s team. The Area Manager must exercise sound business judgement and demonstrate a keen understanding of company policies and procedures, while maintaining a professional demeanor at all times with managers, peers, subordinates and customers. The Area Manager shall perform all such responsibilities in accordance with RGIS policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
* Consistently drive profitability and productivity goals by utilizing financial and analytical management tools to monitor performance. * Oversee execution of inventories. Ensures accuracy, productivity, efficiency, and on-time completion objectives are met for each inventory performed * Take ownership for compliance with all Company policies, procedures and initiatives, including compliance with all employment laws. * Actively ensure the integrity of all data directly collected during assigned inventory events * Manage team of employees, which includes the following: * Recruit, select and retain top talent * Develop a team that consistently executes all standards and initiatives * Oversee completion of ongoing and new hire training programs * Monitor and appraise productivity and performance of assigned teams * Address performance issues, including the preparation and delivery of performance appraisal programs and disciplinary documentation, and termination. * Supervise and direct Team Leaders and Inventory Supervisors, and all assigned teams. * Identify and develop, through coaching and counseling, high-potential employees to build organizational bench-strength, including selecting and/or recommending candidates for promotion to Inventory Supervisor and Team Leader. * Maintain positive relationships with customer management and employees, always enhancing RGIS’ reputation in the marketplace. * Conduct pre-inventory visits (PIV) with customer management and logistics review site visits. Schedule client events accordingly to meet the client requirements. * Maintain a safe working environment without compromise. * Teamwork – ability to work with others. (frequent) * · Participate in weekly district management meetings. * Ability to adhere to a flexible schedule with varying hours, and to work in various work environments, such as stores, warehouses, outside industries, etc. * Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality in all duties. * Repetitive motions requiring use of wrists, hands and fingers. (frequent) * Ability to accurately communicate detailed or important instructions in the applicable environment. (frequent) * Able to work for extended periods of time. (frequent) * Able to travel by car and plane. (frequent) * Able to travel including overnight stays. (occasional) * Other important duties may be assigned by the Company.
Ideal Candidate
* Associate’s Degree in a business-related field or an equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered. * Minimum of two years of experience in managing retail single or multi-store environments or a similar field. * Internal RGIS Team Member experience with upward career development will also be considered, as RGIS has a history of internal development of employees. * Strong understanding of profit & loss factors and controlling the levers that impact P&L. * Computer literate in Microsoft Office applications. * Ability to engage in cross-functional collaboration with peers in order to share best practices, along with ability to interact with Field Support Center (FSC) departments on a variety of items. * Ability to promote and sell RGIS services. * Effective account management and customer service skills. Ability to respond to and react to customer issues. * Willingness and ability to relocate throughout the United States, for increased career opportunities. * Strong people and team management skills with a proven track record of recruiting, hiring and developing a cadre of talent for future potential with RGIS * Strong communication skills. * Excellent organization skills with proven problem solving and decision making skills.
