Web Software Quality Engineer

ResMed is seeking a Software Quality Engineer to work with a highly collaborated and talented web and service applications development team in the Healthcare Informatics product development group. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of working in a highly collaborative environment to deliver high quality products and services that exceed customer expectations. You will be joining a highly dynamic and innovative web and service team working on the latest technologies.

• Implement and enhance automated testing for JAVA based services
• Perform manual tests for both front end and back end services
• Collaborate with fellow engineers and development teams to participate in the overall test strategy to ensure product requirements meet the defined quality standards
• Communicate recommended test strategy to System Test and Performance Test teams
• Create test plans, execute tests and document test results
• Review test plans and test scenarios created by fellow team members
• Create test scenarios to reproduce failures consistently
• Defect logging in JIRA as well as fix verification and documentation
• Participate in product requirements/user story reviews for the creation and execution of test plans and test cases
• Participate and provide suggestions for test strategies and process improvements

• Minimum of 5 years of experience using modern quality methodologies
• Experience with automation tools and scripting
• Collaborative, including having opinions, facing scrutiny, and coming to consensus
• Experience in testing web services on multiple platforms including restful web services
• Experience using Linux/Unix operating systems (medium to heavy use)
• Experience working with continuous integration systems
• Experience using version control systems
• Experience in defect logging, triage and verification through to resolution

Desirable

• Familiarity with Cucumber and Feature File creation
• Familiarity with Bamboo, Confluence, and JIRA
• Familiarity with SVN and GIT
• Experience using Mac, Linux and Windows operating system
• Experience working on an Agile team
• Familiarity with Ruby or JAVA
• Medical device industry experience
