Summary
The Senior Data Architect works as an advanced technical lead within the BI team to deliver short and long term BI and EDW initiatives. This individual designs, develops, implements and continuously refines data warehouse architecture, data integration methods, and end-to-end data flows.
Responsibilities
This position leads the technical components of enterprise information architecture and implementation. The primary focus will be the development and maintenance of flexible data architectures and BI\EDW solutions. This position will work with Business Analysts, BI Analysts, DBAs, other BI\DW Data Architects, executives and business stakeholders to deploy single source reporting for identified and prioritized critical data assets. This includes, but is not limited to, building and deploying: ETL processes, data quality methods, data modeling, EDW architectures, data marts, and data tool\system administration. Additionally, the position provides instruction, training and guidance to internal and external team members to ensure effective and efficient use of system resources. This position will be key in the selection, implementation and training of data integration and modeling tools and systems covering the entire data lifecycle. This role requires strong technical ability as well as strong business acumen. Additional responsibilities include: * Data integration (ETL), data quality, EDW data modeling, EDW data design\architecting, Metadata standards and BI system administration. * Map the current data structure to the future state with a realistic transition plan and road map that integrates with the strategic objectives of the company. * Drive an agile-based approach to implementing data services and solutions to deliver value rapidly and evolve to the future state. * Perform detailed data requirements analyses, design and implementation of complex data models * Design, direct and implement ETL processes, including data capture, data quality, testing and validation methods * Leads architecture governance activities related to BI and Analytics including participation in data governance board (as required) and technology architecture review (as required) * Building innovative data management, real-time, and predictive analytic capabilities * Own and assist in data model documentation, data dictionary, data flow, data mapping and other MDM and Data Governance documentation * Provide analysis, recommendations, and influence to overall strategy and roadmap to build data warehouse environment and supporting toolsets * This position does not provide patient care. Ideal Candidate
**Incumbent must possess:** * Advanced knowledge of physical database design and data structures (e.g. OLAP, Dimensional, Snowflake) * Knowledge of one or more client-side development environments (e.g. Visual Studio .NET, Eclipse). * Expert knowledge of one or more database systems (e.g. Postgres, SQL Server, Oracle, Hadoop). * Experience with data management platforms (e.g. SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) * Advanced skill level in SQL, data analysis, data modeling and data architecture skills **Education:** * A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations, Management, or other related field is required. Experience may be substituted for required education on a year-for-year basis. **Experience:** * Requires a minimum of five (5) years IT\IS EDW\data management experience with at least one successful design and delivery of an EDW. * Proficient in requirements analysis, EDW design and development, reporting, or other BI related experience. * Advanced SQL knowledge is required. **License(s):** * None. **Certification(s):** * None. **Computer / Typing:** * Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
