Summary
The Senior Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst will work with the BI team to deliver BI Solutions. This individual will help set the direction and strategy for getting data that is critical to the success of the business. Incumbent will perform requirements analysis, data integration, data modeling, design, and BI development to deliver short and long term data solutions. This position will work with Business Analysts, EDW Data Architects, executives and business stakeholders to identify and prioritize critical data assets, as well as the modeling, analysis, and design of data delivery methodologies that should be applied, all while maintaining a "single source of truth". Additionally, the candidate will own data governance and master data management documentation and processes for specific lines of business.
Responsibilities
This position will also provide instruction and guidance to internal and external customers to ensure effective and efficient use of system resources. This position will be involved in selection, implementation and training of data tools and systems. Responsibilities include analysis of data requirements, resolution of data management and reporting related issues and participation in vendor and/or tool selection. The incumbent will assist staff with data management and reporting system maintenance and troubleshooting as needed. The incumbent may work with outside vendors to provide and collect data needed in order to meet contractual obligations, reporting requirements, and/or company goals. This role requires strong technical ability as well as strong business acumen. Additional responsibilities include: * Building innovative data management and real-time analytic capabilities needed by the business * Engage with business leaders to understand critical business requirements and identify ways that the data infrastructure can best support or optimize business growth * Recommend/set standards to improve quality of data and speed of analysis Collaborate with data architects on changes associated with data systems or system interfaces * Perform high level and detailed data requirements analyses, design and disseminate complex data models * Partner with technical teams to implement data capture, ETL, validation, and test methods * Easily access and synthesize data using appropriate tools and technology * Contribute to business decision making and business development through data-centric tools and applications * Perform data validation tests, QA testing of developed solutions * Ensure that data is visualized and presented in a way that contributes to insights * Maintain and assist in data model documentation, data dictionary, data flow, data mapping and other MDM and Data Governance documentation * Provide analysis, recommendations, and influence to overall strategy and roadmap to build data warehouse environment and supporting toolsets
Ideal Candidate
**Incumbent must possess:** * Thorough knowledge of physical database design and data structures (e.g. OLAP, Dimensional, Snowflake) * Knowledge of one or more client-side development environments (e.g. Visual Studio .NET, Eclipse). * Thorough knowledge of one or more database systems (e.g. Postgres, SQL Server, Oracle, Hadoop). * Experience with data management platforms (e.g. SSIS, SSAS, SSRS) * Proficiency in SQL. **Education:** * A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Operations, Management, or other related field is required. Experience may be substituted for required education on a year-for-year basis. **Experience:** * Requires a minimum of five (5) years IT\IS experience with at least three (3) years working in data management, analysis, governance, reporting, or other BI related experience. Requires least two (2) years healthcare data experience; more is preferred. SQL experience and proficiency is required. **License(s):** * None. **Certification(s):** * None. **Computer / Typing:** * Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel and Word and have the ability to use the computer to complete online learning requirements for job-specific competencies, access online forms and policies, complete online benefits enrollment, etc.
