As the lead software engineer for Redfin’s machine learning platform, your job is to integrate, sanitize, and productize our massive store of market and user data to turn it into a competitive weapon. You will be building and evolving the platform to support batch and real-time processing of data at a massive scale and to enable predictive analytics. You’ll work in a team responsible for developing machine learning algorithms that power features like the Hot Home, Listing Recommendation, User Scoring, Agent Recommendation, Price Whisperer, supply marketing with targeting data to drive ROI, and empower our real estate agents to provide proactive services. Our stack runs primarily in the cloud on AWS, so experience there is a big bonus

* Strong quantitative skills. A degree in mathematics, statistics, C.S., or one of the hard sciences is required. A Masters or PhD is a bonus * 5 - 7 years of experience building large scale production system and services. * Experience in building the next-generation analytics platform like Hadoop for batch processing and streaming for real-time processing would be a plus. * Experience building predictive models and simulations with big data would be a huge plus. * Experience with technologies like Postgres, Redshift, DynamoDB, Hadoop, Hive, Kinesis, Kafka, Storm and programming experience in Python and Java * Architectural insight on where to store data and modeling experience to recommend how it should be structured to make it accessible, performant, and resilient to change * An entrepreneurial spirit, a drive to ship quickly, and familiarity with agile software development practices * The ability to deal with ambiguity, communicate well with partner teams, and a strong empathy for the customer experience
