Summary
Red Hat's Global Support Services (GSS) team is seeking an experienced and highly skilled support engineer to serve as a Technical Account Manager. In this role, you'll provide personalized, proactive support and guidance, cultivating high-value relationships with clients as you seek to understand their IT infrastructures, internal processes, and business needs. The technical account management service is a premium support offering that builds, maintains, and grows long-lasting customer loyalty. As a Technical Account Manager, you will tailor support for our customers' environment, facilitate collaboration with their other vendors, and advocate on their behalf by working closely with our engineering, research and development, product management, and global support teams to debug, test, and resolve issues.
Responsibilities
Perform technical reviews and provide knowledge sharing to proactively identify and prevent issues Perform initial or secondary investigation and respond to online and phone support requests Gain an understanding of our customers' technical infrastructure and environment, hardware, and products Deliver key Red Hat JBoss Middleware portfolio roadmap updates and assist customer with product upgrades Provide advice and guidance to customers about their current and future Red Hat JBoss MIddleware products Serve as the customer advocate within Red Hat Manage customer cases and maintain clear and concise case documentation Visit customers as required to provide an exceptional customer service experience
Ideal Candidate
5+ years of Linux and UNIX system administration experience Bachelor's degree in a technology-related discipline is preferred Experience in a support, development, engineering, or quality assurance organization Ability to manage and grow existing enterprise customer relationships by delivering proactive, relationship-based support Advanced technical knowledge of the Linux file system and the Linux kernel Hands-on experience with a variety of hardware vendors Understanding of enterprise-class applications like Oracle, Veritas, and SAP Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal Experience with training and presentation delivery is preferred Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) is preferred Native or business-level German language skills
