Summary
As the Senior Director, Accounting you will be responsible for the accounting and financial close process and the functional accounting processes. You will be responsible for the supervision, leadership and development of accounting staff.
Responsibilities
* Hands on role that oversees the general ledger process for a robust general accounting team * Leads and mentors a team of 2-5 accounting professionals * Analyzes operational results and oversees that preparation of journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations and other critical schedules for month-end closing processing * Strong experience with revenue recognition as well as understanding of the new revenue standard * Ensures maintenance of appropriate internal controls and financial procedures * Ensures timeliness, accuracy, and usefulness of financial information * Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP, demonstrating comprehensive accounting and technical and research skills * Leads process improvement projects as needed * Displays superior ability to take initiative, establish strong relationships, work independently or as part of a team and meet tight deadlines * Displays superior communication skill, as demonstrated by an ability to interpret, present and explain complex accounting issues. * Supports month-end, year-end close financial close processes including internal and external audit requests * Assist with post acquisition integration of accounting functions
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required * CPA required * Public accounting experience preferred * 12+ years of experience in U.S. GAAP accounting * Previous experience managing a team required * Strong-to-expert knowledge in MS Excel; MS Access knowledge preferred * Proficiency with financial statement, accounting concepts and financial analysis * Solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage time effectively to meet deadlines. * Public company experience * Strong verbal and written communication skills required * Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization * Solid analytical and reasoning abilities; must be effective at summarizing financial information * Availability to work in excess of forty hours per week when required to meet financial deadlines
