Summary
A Senior Scrum Master to run medium-to-complex internal Agile COE initiatives. The senior Scrum Master is a key role within an Agile delivery team as it enables and drives success of project goals. Senior Scrum Masters play an important role in the long-term evolution of agile practices at RBC.
Responsibilities
* Initiative delivery: Facilitating medium-to-high complexity Agile initiatives from initiation through release, providing oversight to ensure alignment with RBC Agile/Scrum practices, including but not limited to, project kick-off, sprint, release and deployment planning * Accountable alongside the scrum team for the achievement of release objectives and results that meet stakeholders’ needs and expectations. (may include business case development support and metric tracking) * Manage risks to delivery: Navigating and identifying shared IT services required by the team in the delivery of its objectives * Cross-functional Communication: Communicate cross functionally, ensuring transparency of progress and outcomes; Report team progress and accomplishment up and across; Facilitate status updates, product demos and retrospectives * Coaching: With the assistance of the Agile Coach, provide proactive coaching to the team and recommends continuous improvement of processes to optimize team productivity
Ideal Candidate
**Must-have** * 2+ years of experience as a Scrum Master – where Scrum principles, practices and theory were diligently applied * 5+ years of experience project management experience * Project / Program delivery in Agile and/or Waterfall environment (medium-to-large scale initiatives) using influence to facilitate to outcomes * Practical experience with any of the key disciplines required in agile delivery – such as software development * Undergraduate Degree or equivalent experience **Nice-to-have** * Agile Certification (e.g. SAFe, Scrum Master, Scrum Coach, Scrum Master Trainer, Rally)
