Summary
Quality Test Engineering provides expertise, guidance, and management of issues encountered during design, development, build, integration, and product realization of Depot and Factory Test Equipment.The Quality Test Engineering scope includes collaboration in Peer Reviews and formal inspections of work products as defined in Program Planning Documentation.This includes ensuring the proper execution of root cause analysis and corrective and preventative actions, continuous improvement, compliance to IDS policies, and the procedure, deployment, and alignment of the quality engineering process.
Responsibilities
The software quality engineer will ensure that testing activities allow units to meet customer requirements and system goals.The successful candidate will be able to identify existing or potential issues in software and collaborate with software/systems personnel in application testing, such as system, unit, regression, load, and acceptance testing.The software quality engineer will test any new software to ensure integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and technical specifications.The engineer will be able to analyze formal test results in order to uncover and report any defects, bugs, errors, configuration issues, and interoperability flaws.
Ideal Candidate
**Required Skills:** * B.S. Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Mathematics and a minimum of 6 years prior relevant experience. * Experience with Microsoft Office applications including MS Word, Excel, and Power Point * Ability to get a DoD Security Clearance * U.S Citizenship status is mandatory as this position will need a U.S. Security clearance within 1 year of start date. **Desired Skills:** * Excellent PC skills and understanding in programming languages specifically Unix, C, C++ * Experience with National Instruments Test Stand and Lab VIEW applications * Knowledge of SQA methodology and tools * Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a track record of working effectively with Development Engineering and other functions * Experience in the Change Control Board process and engagement with program's DM (Data Management) and CM (Configuration Management) personnel to ensure processes are in alignment with program's tailored requirements. * Ability to read and understand standard software code structure/languages * Experience in Quality Sciences and/or Engineering * Experience using Six Sigma practices to continuously improve software systems * Experience with analytical skills, root cause analysis, or corrective/preventative action
