Summary
The position of Project Manager is to provide project oversight with responsibility to manage resource in a project team environment to meet schedule and budgetary commitments. The Project Manager will also define the project objectives and obtain approvals from management and stakeholders. Communicate, report, and manage the project team to assure projects are delivered within budget, on schedule, within scope and meet the quality standards of Raytheon.
Responsibilities
* Manage project development from schematic design through construction closeout. * Interface with the Project Architect on a regular basis to maintain project status. * Manage the administrative elements of a project including cost, schedule, and approvals. * Define and clarify the project scope, deliverables, and milestones in collaboration with the project team, customer, management and stakeholders. * Communicate project scope and deliverables to the Project Architect and stakeholders. * Liaison with project stakeholders to manage administrative controls on a project. * Secure acceptance and approval of deliverables from the project sponsor and stakeholders. * Plan, schedule, and track project lifecycle through software tools to measure actual timelines and milestones. * Validate estimates for the design and construction phases of the work * Draft and submit budget baselines, and recommend subsequent budget changes * Identify needed resources of other departments necessary for the successful completion of a project. * Identify the team structure needed to address a project, and assign role responsibilities to the project team members. * Identify and manage the critical path on a project. * Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations. * Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas. * Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential risks and opportunities, and devise contingency plans. * Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle. * Manage and oversee project team members, contractors, stakeholders to assure timely and financial accountability of a project. * Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project. * Fully document and close-out project records, schedules and financials in a timely manner. * Develop and implement best practices and tools for project execution and management.
Ideal Candidate
* Prior experience managing design projects from schematic design through construction closeout. * Prior experience leading design projects and leading personnel toward specific project deliverables. * Prior experience utilizing positive motivation and appropriate skill sets to drive team members on diverse projects. * Prior successful experience delivering design projects that meet objectives. * Bachelors degree, preferably in Architecture, Project Management, Construction Management, Professional Engineering, or equivalent project experience managing projects for 5 years. * Project management certification (such as PMP, CAPM, or PgMP) is desired but not required. * Prior experience interfacing with customers and stakeholders. * Experienced in the project delivery cycle from design through construction. * Prior experience managing/overseeing multiple projects each valued at $5,000 to $2,000,000. * Strong working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Microsoft Project. * Experience and/or training in reading construction drawings and specifications.
