Responsibilities
Program/Production Support Engineer, responsible for resolution of engineering and manufacturing issues that arise in the procurement, assembly and test of systems and subsystems. Assist in the development of qualification and/or pre-production test plans for new suppliers. Assist procurement in evaluation and source selection for existing and new configuration hardware. Candidate will work with engineering and production to provide factory support by troubleshooting hardware and process issues. Applicant will support resolution of producibility issues on production lines and in testing, and provide root cause feedback. Represent engineering in Failure Review Boards and Change Control Boards. Maintain and implement design changes in the Technical Data Package and requirements/specifications. Review designs periodically for obsolescence issues, perform trade studies, and recommend/implement changes as required. Must be able to work in a high visibility, fast paced team environment, requiring minimal direction.
Ideal Candidate
- Minimum of 2 years manufacturing and/or test related experience in a demanding production environment. - Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes - Proficient in assembly, test, failure diagnosis, fabrication, and support skills. - Knowledge and use of lab common equipment (oscilloscopes, network analyzers, etc.). - Knowledge of electronics manufacturing processes and test equipment. - Strong analytical written and verbal communication skills - Understanding of process measurement and integration of electrical / mechanical sub-systems - Project management / teaming experience/Presentation skills - Possess excellent leadership skills - Ability to interpret information and convey message to different levels within the team - Willingness to learn and take on responsibilities that may fall outside of job scope - Adaptive problem solving skills - Computer aptitude in the following applications; MS Office Suite, Spice, C++, AutoCad Desired Skills: - Experience working with military specifications is beneficial. - Defense industry background preferred. - Experience using lean manufacturing concepts - Ability to read/ interpret engineering drawings - Change agent attributes - Understand general workings of a shop floor control management system - System and CCA level testing experience - Experience with automatic test development from component to system level - Experience with analog/digital circuits, power supplies, and cable/wiring harnesses - Ability to work alternate work schedules including casual overtime Required Education (including Major): BSEE/MSEE
