Responsibilities
* Entry Level Packaging Engineer will support major production programs by creating and maintaining work instructions for the packaging and shipment of end items and conceptualizing, designing, and detailing special material handling equipment and shipping containers utilizing Pro-Engineer software. * In addition, determine adequate packaging for incoming hardware, various products, and upper level assemblies. * This position will also involve supporting cost reduction and process improvement initiatives and candidate will be responsible for understanding the requirements associated with shipping hazardous materials. * Candidate must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills and be capable of interacting with peers in a team environment. * This position involves direct support of manufacturing activities and requires spending a significant amount of time in and around several factory areas.
Ideal Candidate
* Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint * General Personal Computer Aptitude * Ability to apply analytical skills to solve Technical Problems * Ability to function independently with minimal supervision * Good written and verbal communication skills * Familiar with ESD safe materials * Experience and knowledge designing packaging for military hardware. * Proficient Pro-E user * Hazardous Material marking experience * Familiar with the Code of Federal Regulations -49, Mil-Std-2073, and Mil-Std-129. * Bachelor or Masters of Science Degree in Packaging Engineering/Science or Manufacturing Engineering Technology, or related field from an ABET accredited curriculum with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0.
