Summary
Raytheon, a global aerospace and defense company, is looking for a digital content strategist to serve as the lead for our public-facing websites. The digital content strategist assists Raytheon's Corporate Affairs and Communications team to drive traffic to Raytheon's external websites, measure results, develop website standards, coordinate new pages and manage infrastructure projects, including the migration of Raytheon's website properties to a new content management system. This is a unique opportunity to help shape the public face of a Fortune 200 company. Raytheon had 2015 sales of $23 billion and 61,000 employees worldwide. Its external website has won numerous honors and was featured in the latest edition of "The New Rules of Marketing and PR," a bestselling book. The successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of the latest web tools and technologies, design, web architecture and taxonomy. This employee will be a member of the Global Business Services (GBS) - Advanced Media organization, directly supporting Raytheon's Corporate Affairs & Communications. Responsibilities include:
Responsibilities
* Support implementation of a new Drupal-based content management system and migrate Raytheon's public-facing properties. * Ensure standards are met on all current and proposed pages. Act as primary point of contact for communications team members around the world on issues of website content and display. * Lead efforts to incorporate content for international visitors. * Serve as main liaison between corporate communications, IT and page designers. Manage web representation of time-sensitive announcements. * Evolve website design guides as needed, and ensure compliance. * Review website pages regularly for traffic, ease of use, accessibility and errors; recommend remedies for underperforming pages. * Manage website performance metrics and reporting; use metrics and technical experience to advise on campaigns and initiatives. * Lead evaluation of new tools and coordinate training. * Collaborate with vendors on development of new technologies and scripts. Assist vendors and IT with coding/implementation strategy.
Ideal Candidate
**Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:** * Demonstrated project management skills to oversee infrastructure projects in a decentralized organization. * Knowledge of web tools and technologies, design, architecture and taxonomy. * Experience editing web content. * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to interact with and influence all levels of management. * Demonstrated ability to juggle multiple priorities while driving tasks to completion. * Proven experience driving and measuring online engagement. * Minimum six years related experience and a bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience. **The following skills, knowledge and experience are a plus:** * Experience with Drupal, Oracle UCM, Google Analytics and social media management systems. * Familiarity with HTML and a programming language such as PHP or Java. * Familiarity with the defense industry.
