Data Systems Engineer

- Maintain, enhance, and optimize the data pipeline in a highly available, scalable, and robust manner - Provision, configure and deploy new infrastructure and services - Design, manage, and maintain tools to automate operational processes - Contribute to making our infrastructure simple, reliable, and easy to operate - Maintain and enhance monitoring and alerting

- Experience in operations and Linux systems engineering in a cloud environment - Mastery of a configuration management tool, such as Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Salt - Programming experience in Python or a similar language - Experience with CI, Jenkins and Continuous Deployment - Experience with WebApps and Nginx - Experience with monitoring (Sensu, Nagios) and metrics (Graphite, Librato, statsd) - Knowledge of security best practices - Ability to track down root causes and fix them in systematic ways - Strong problem solving skills and attention to detail - Self-starter and results-oriented And for bonus points: - Experience setting up and maintaining a Hadoop cluster - Experience with data pipeline technologies, especially Kafka - Experience with containers (Docker, LXC)
