Summary
We are looking for people with strong analytic and big data experience to expand our brand targeting and inventory quality capabilities. As a Staff Scientist you will lead large projects to investigate and model a variety of problems to identify the right users to target on the right inventory at the right time. You will collaborate with other scientists and engineers to work on a variety of large scale systems including our MapReduce cluster (30+ petabytes a day) and global realtime bidding system. You will model suspicious online behaviour to track down botnets and other fraudsters. You will develop behavioural models to understand and describe the interests and trends of the online community.
Responsibilities
* Develop models and techniques to accurately describe online users at a large scale * Lead new analytic projects through the full technical life cycle, from design and development, testing and analysis, to deployment and support * Lead projects requiring several scientists * Work with cross-functional engineering and science teams to drive brand targeting and inventory quality projects while maintaining other goals. * Work with product management and client services to gather project requirements and communicate project impacts * Mentor and provide idea leadership to senior and junior scientists * Participate in on-call rotation supporting key analytic products developed by the team.
Ideal Candidate
* 10+ years experience with big data analytics, preferably in the online space * Extensive experience leading projects to build production models, algorithms and pipelines * Degree in a topic related to Statistics, Data Mining, or Computer Science (Master’s/PhD prefered) * 5+ years experience with MapReduce or other large scale computing systems * Hands-on experience creating high performance programs in C++, Java or similar language(s) * Ability to communicate complex machine learning ideas to a wide and diverse group * Past experience promoting and building a high quality analytic culture.
