Proofreader

Quad/Graphics offers publishers, catalogers, retailers and direct marketers design and photography, digital imaging, printing, finishing, mailing/distribution and data-driven marketing solutions.

Under the general direction of the Client Services Manager, the incumbent will: - Proofread and mark up all proofs generated in production. This applies to new work and correction cycles. - Work with client copywriters to learn and understand new procedures and styles to verify accuracy during quality control. - Monitor quality control statistics and report to site manager regularly. As a Copywriter: - Write, review, and edit material to ensure error free product. Maintain a clear and concise message. - Work with client copywriters to learn and understand new procedures and writing styles. - Meet all client deadlines for written articles. - Meet all corporate and legal standards of quality and accuracy. In general: - Work to improve the manufacturing process by communicating common errors to production and management. - Maintain a professional appearance and relationship with all customer contacts on and off site. - Maintain confidentiality when required. - Other incidental duties as assigned.

- 2 years of experience in proofreading – retail experience a plus - Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, English (or equivalent) preferred - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite - Strong grammar, spelling and punctuation skills - Able to work collaboratively with other writing and design team members - Strong organizational skills with ability to successfully juggle and deliver multiple projects and proactively communicate status and issues - Must be detail and deadline oriented. - Self-starter with ability to self-direct
