We have an immediate need for a Senior Principal Software Product Line Manager. This position can be located in our Mountain View, CA office or in our Aliso Viejo, (Orange County) CA, corporate headquarters.

* Defining product roadmap and requirements * Market and industry data related to products. * RFI/RFQ responses. * Product collateral and training. * Marketing product capabilities. * Managing product through life cycle (definition through end of life) * Competitive analysis.

* BSCS/EE/CE, MS/MBA preferred. * Must have a minimum of 10-12 years of experience in the storage and data networking industry, with at least 3 of them closely associated with software product line management or product marketing. * Must have a detailed understanding of Fibre Channel, Fibre Channel over Ethernet, SCSI/iSCSI technologies preferably from prior involvement in a technical role. Hands-on experience with ASICs, Firmware, Device Drivers, Data Center Management tools and utilities is highly desirable. * Must have a detailed understanding of Solaris, Windows Server, VMware ESX/ESXi, HP-UX, IBM AIX, RedHat, SUSE Linux OS’s to translate IO features into marketing requirements (MRD/PRD) for each OS. * Experience with Intel, AMD processors, Cisco, Brocade switches, Emulex, Intel, Broadcom adapters/controllers, is a plus. * Knowledge of server hardware platforms, storage arrays, switches, virtualization appliances and data center security equipment is highly desirable. * Must possess an intimate knowledge of the Fibre Channel market including market size/opportunity, pricing, and competitive landscape. Knowledge of Ethernet market is desirable. * Awareness of emerging trends in storage (SDDS, SSDs, hyper-converged infrastructure) and technologies like OpenStack is highly desirable * Must possess the financial and business capabilities to develop and review business plans to maximize ROI and drive product strategy. * Excellent communications skills & ability to promote business to senior management, customers, partners, and industry press are required. * Travel is expected to trade shows, industry forums, & customer sites.
