Summary
Provide maintenance support services by performing preventative maintenance procedures, ensuring efficient operation of equipment and systems, responding to maintenance requests and building relationships with multiple vendors.
Responsibilities
* Perform preventative maintenance functions by adhering to workflow processes and procedures and ensuring efficient operation of equipment and systems * Maintain the appearance of property and equipment and perform general building maintenance and grounds related functions as needed * Monitor inventory of furniture and equipment to effectively control and utilize company assets and assist with room and equipment set ups to satisfy business needs * Support process improvements and projects within the operation to increase the level and quality of service provided and to ensure effective and timely delivery to internal and external customers in order to meet or exceed customer requirements * Assist business continuity efforts by proactively planning for and responding to catastrophic events as well as localized emergencies * Assist facilities management operations related areas including physical security, environmental health safety, and manage site support for work scheduled outside normal business hours * Align individual performance with department expectations by adhering to established schedules, setting work-related goals and communication with management * Build relationships with internal and external customers by responding to maintenance requests timely and efficiently and coordinating vendor management and communication * Contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating cultural expectations and influencing others to reward performance and value “can do” people, accountability, diversity and inclusion, flexibility, continuous improvement, collaboration, creativity and fun * Support QBE values in personal work behaviors, decision-making, contributions and interpersonal interactions; manage own career development by soliciting feedback and valuing other perspectives
Ideal Candidate
**Education** * High School Diploma/GED **Experience** * 2 years relevant experience **Preferred Qualifications** **Experience** * Relevant maintenance experience **Knowledge** * Relevant trends and information within the industry * Demonstrated practice of keeping current with new and emerging tools and technologies relevant to the line of work * Principles and processes for providing customer service, including customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services and evaluation of customer satisfaction * Terminology, function and fundamental capabilities of common computer, software, information and communication technology devices, components, and concepts **Skills** * Appropriately prioritize assigned tasks * Understand the needs and goals of customers and actively look for ways to meet them; escalate issues when necessary * Use logic to address work-related issues and problems * Follow established guidelines to focus on details and complete tasks attentively and thoroughly * Communicate information in a clear, well-organized, and professional manner * Escalate issues when necessary **Abilities** * High attention to detail * Keep logs, records, and files up-to-date and readily accessible * Adapt and be flexible in a complex, changing environment * Complete tasks by taking decisive or quick action * Work independently with little supervision or direction * Quickly change direction when working on multiple projects or issues * Show drive and initiative * Be a willing, effective, and efficient learner * Demonstrated interest in enhancing knowledge; seeks opportunities to learn and grow **Work environment** * Travel frequency * Infrequent (approximately 1-4 trips annually)
