Summary
Q2 is seeking a  Senior Cloud Engineer to join the Q2 Datacenter Engineering team. This team is responsible for the architecture, deployment and point-escalation support of Q2’s customer facing Software as a Service (SaaS) and custom hosting products. This position will be responsible for making recommendations for improving the environment, leading projects and troubleshooting complex issues.
Responsibilities
* Architect, plan and engineer solutions for improving the services for hosted applications * Participate in the improvement of high availability and application architecture in coordination with development * Actively contribute to the configuration, layout and performance tuning of production infrastructure * Establish plans (tools, techniques & practices) to monitor and manage the production environment * Scripting administrative tasks for consistency and mass deployments * Provide senior level expertise support on services and devices * Transfer knowledge to implementation and operations staff * Lead projects, working with the workgroup to achieve defined goals within set timelines * Perform maintenance related activities during scheduled weekend maintenance windows
Ideal Candidate
**Experience And Knowledge:** * 6-8 years of related experience in Linux Systems Administration * Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting of Linux OS – CentOS specifically * Working experience in either AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud * Working experience with Memcached, Consul, Kafka, Terraform, NGINX * Working experience with Nomad, DCOS, Rancher, or similar technology * Working experience with Ansible, Puppet, or Chef * Working experience with Containers, Docker, automation and orchestration * Effectively communicate issues and resolutions to all levels of the organization * Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive customer and internal information **Preferred:** * Knowledge of Microsoft SQL, Cassandra, PostgreSQL * Working knowledge of VMWare and EMC Storage * Ability and desire to learn new skills quickly * Certifications or an interest in pursuing certification
