Summary
As a Creative Director you are a conceptual, visual design expert who creates insight and strategy into creative elements that resonate across all platforms. The Creative Director is an expert with concept, layout, and design of a competitive weekly retail circular with variances of format and paginations, while adhering to provided directional strategies and overall corporate brand. He/She has a working knowledge of print, broadcast and digital communications and is facile with promotional, advertising, direct and ambient marketing.
Responsibilities
While managing a team of Designers, the Creative Director will direct product-centric photography used in the tabs. Factoring in context of the page, product features and current trends to generate inspirational vignettes, room scenes and outdoor environments. This includes selection of product and props, concept sketches and attending the photo shoots if needed. Input to the photo studio regarding architecture, time of day, lighting and overall mood should be provided by the art director.
Ideal Candidate
* This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 8 years’ experience in Creative Direction in an advertising or marketing capacity, or a relevant combination of education or experience. * Exceptional conceptual and design skills * Ability to manage a team of 10 or more Designers * A master of layouts and the elements making up layouts – type, illustration and/or photography, paper, ink, etc. * Ability to generate graphic icons, themes and visual treatments for special events or offers communicated in the tabs. * Advanced knowledge of the MAC, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Quark Xpress and In-Design * Ability to think strategically and creatively and to generate innovative ideas * Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with clients and associates * Ability to respond professionally to direction, constructive critique and client feedback * Ability to prioritize, problem solve, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines
