PCH's Analytical Science team is looking for a strong Data Scientist who is passionate about using the power of algorithms to drive customer engagement and monetization. As a part of our team, you will be utilizing enormous volumes of data on customers, PCH products, channels, and developing advanced statistical algorithms to solve unique business problems. This is an exciting opportunity to work with big data to build data products backed by algorithms to delight customers and to drive significant advances in PCH Commerce (online and Direct Mail), Search, Online Gaming, and Digital Advertising business.
Responsibilities
* Work comfortably with multi-terabyte, and billion+ rows, data. * Utilize large-scale data mining and machine learning techniques to discover actionable patterns in the data * Perform rigorous model evaluation, design hypothesis tests, oversee test execution and result evaluation * Model, predict, and classify consumer behavior and business metrics * Communicate complex analyses in a clear and actionable manner
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum Bachelors degree in Machine Learning, Applied Math, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field. * Must have at least 2 years of full time working experience performing predictive modeling * Passion for empirical research and answering hard questions with data * Data mining, machine learning or recommender systems knowledge and experience * Experience with model evaluation, hypothesis testing and experimental design * Attention to detail, strong work ethic * Ability to query databases (SQL, SAS) * Proficiency in Enterprise Miner/ Enterprise Guide/ SAS Model Manager * Preference given to candidates with a background in collaborative filtering, data mining, machine learning, optimization, statistical theory, econometrics, or computer science
