Summary
PSA Healthcare is in need of a per diem Speech and Language Pathologist for in-home healthcare. PSA Healthcare is a leading provider of in-home healthcare services. PSA is currently seeking an experienced SLP to be responsible and accountable for the evaluation, coordination and administration of speech therapy services in a home based program for medically fragile children.
Responsibilities
* Responsible and accountable for evaluation, coordination and administration of quality speech therapy services * Provides speech therapy services to varying patient population using evidence based practice standards * Creates a written evaluation defining speech therapy needs, goals, and expected outcomes in conjunction with referring physician's Plan of Treatment * Follows policies and procedures and conforms to all applicable patient care standards, licensure regulations and state laws * Carries out appropriate techniques according to identified goals and treatment programs * Participates in coordination of services (including discharge planning), with health care team, physicians, parent/guardians, nurses, and appropriate others * Administers care to ensure safety for the patient * Maintains effective communication between staff, health care team members, and family * Serves as a resource consultant for family and agency personnel * Provides physicians and PSA with written evaluation of patient’s needs, goals, and progress on a weekly basis or as ordered
Ideal Candidate
**Position Requirements:** * Certificate of Clinical Competence * Medicaid provider * NPI number * Experience with Speech and language disorders or delays * 1 year of pediatric experience **Physical Requirements:** * Frequent lifting and repositioning of patients * Repeated or prolonged standing, bending, kneeling, twisting and occasional climbing of stairs * Acute sense of sight and hearing (corrected or uncorrected) and strong sense of touch, smell and taste * Agility and strength sufficient to handle patients and equipment without assistance * Must be able to appropriately respond physically and psychologically to emergency situations in the home or during transport * Must be able to function in a wide variety of environments which may involve exposure to allergens and other health conditions
