Summary
The mission of Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is to ensure that Prudential has a comprehensive framework for understanding the risks embedded in and across its businesses, so that the company can manage these risks effectively, evaluate current and future risk challenges and opportunities, and enhance shareholder value. Market Risk Management (MRM) is the unit of Enterprise Risk Management responsible for measuring, analyzing drivers of and managing interest rate, foreign exchange and equity risk as well as establishing a limit framework to control the potential impact of these risks on economic value, income, capital and liquidity.
Responsibilities
* Ongoing monitoring and communication of key sources of interest rate, derivative and other market risks including comprehensive analysis/understanding by business and legal entity, strategy, potential impact on earnings/capital/economic value, and management criteria (exit strategy, trigger points, etc.). * Monitoring and reporting on market risk limit compliance across the enterprise and within businesses and legal entities. * Performing risk and P&L attribution that will leverage analytical skills, numerical capacity and thorough understanding of financial analysis. * Additional responsibilities may involve special projects and documentation efforts. For example, tasks necessary to support our needs under a new regulatory framework.
Ideal Candidate
* Three or more years of experience in market risk management at a major financial institution in a role either on the trading desk, a business-facing risk management role or a role in portfolio risk analysis. * Proven analytical and research skills and experience applying same in an investment, finance, risk or actuarial assignment. * Strong reasoning and excellent written communication skills. Ability to understand complex technical investment and financial issues and synthesize knowledge into clear, concise business terms to inform senior management decision-making. * Understanding of market valuation and market factor sensitivity calculations for a broad range of asset and derivative instruments. Knowledge of price and risk drivers for fixed income instruments is important. * Demonstrated effectiveness working independently and in multi-disciplinary teams in a dynamic environment.
