Responsibilities
Newly formed Corporate Actuarial IT organization is actively seeking a Data Warehousing Lead for Enterprise Actuarial Transformation program. Data Warehousing Lead for this area will be a seasoned hands-on technologist with strong background in designing, developing and maintaining enterprise-scale data warehousing solutions. The candidate will have expertise in data and relationship modeling, logical and physical database design, data integration, performance optimization, capacity management and planning, change management best practices. Expert knowledge of Oracle database platform is required. Working knowledge of modern Big Data technologies and ecosystems is strongly desirable. Data Warehousing Lead will provide the overall technical guidance, leadership and execution of data architecture and integration with other platform components. The candidate will be responsible for evaluating and recommending technologies and tools to meet business needs and enforcing data related standards and governance. He/she will be directly accountable for program deliverables while driving toward end state architecture that anticipates future needs and mitigates potential risks. Enterprise Actuarial Transformation is a newly launched program aimed at centralizing Actuarial systems that were traditionally aligned to individual business lines into a common architecture. The architecture will enable streamlined and optimized processes and governance around financial liability modeling and reporting to meet more stringent regulatory guidelines and support business growth. The architecture will support sophisticated, business critical, compute intensive risk calculations and projection models.
Ideal Candidate
- 8+ years of relevant software development and enterprise data warehousing experience - Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline - Expertise in all aspects of database design and development - Expertise with Oracle ecosystem - Working knowledge of ORM, ETL and BI tools - Knowledge of at Java, Unix/Linux, shell scripting - Familiarity with design patterns and best practices, service oriented architectures, agile methodologies, test driven development, automated testing and Software Development Lifecycle - Knowledge of insurance products, risk modeling and pricing is desirable - Proven track record of delivery - Strong communication, inter-personal, collaboration and business-facing skills - Respected leader with demonstrated ability to influence, persuade and negotiate - Driven, self-motivated, able to work under pressure using sound judgment & professionalism - Keeps up to date on emerging technologies, fosters innovation, coaches team members
