Summary
PREI currently has an outstanding career opportunity for an Assistant Vice President level Trader to join the Global Real Estate Securities (GRES) team which is comprised of experienced real estate securities professionals located in the United States, Europe and Asia Pacific. GRES employs a disciplined, research intensive process that seeks to deliver our clients attractive, long-term, risk-adjusted returns. The role will be primarily responsible for executing trading activity on a global basis under the direction of the portfolio management team. The position is based in Madison, NJ and reports to the Vice President and senior trader for the group.
Responsibilities
* Timely and accurate calculation, allocation, and execution of trades onto operating platform; tailor trading to achieve best execution, minimize market impact, and lower overall execution costs * Reconcile execution differences with brokers and trade support * Provide trader market commentary, street research summary and color with particular attention to companies where the fund is currently active or holds positions * Provide market color on IPOs and secondary offerings and file appropriate compliance documentation of deal participation * Manage client account cash balances within the scope of trading; process foreign exchange transactions * Perform transaction cost analyses and employ findings to improve fund performance * Evaluate broker execution performance with Portfolio Managers; manage broker commission schedules to ensure appropriate compensation for services * Collaborate with information technology to suggest and implement enhancements to the trading platform * Interface on client presentations and meetings related to trading topics. * Onboard new broker relationships as requested by Portfolio Managers
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor?s degree in finance or related field required * Minimum of 5 years trading experience required; specific experience with REITs a plus * Strong Excel skills including the ability to program in Visual Basic (VBA) required; other programming skills a plus * Competent in use of Bloomberg quotation and analytical tools * Strong analytical and verbal and written communication skills * Understands general market dynamics, liquidity characteristics, and interaction of supply and demand characteristics both domestically and internationally * Understands appropriate use of electronic trading, crossing networks, dark pools, algorithms and portfolio trading * Ability to understand and implement trading strategies to complement Portfolio Manager?s tactical trade objectives * Availability to cover trading during European market hours
