Summary
The Nursing Director is accountable for the administrative direction and clinical leadership of resident care areas and clinical support.
Responsibilities
* Be responsible for the implementation of clinical services and programs that contribute to safe, effective and efficient resident-centered care and meet all state and federal Long Term Care Regulations. * Establish and maintain plans for effective management of financial, human, material and informational resources within nursing services departments. * Serve as a professional role model for staff, demonstrate creativity, vision, insight, energy, and commitment, supporting pursuit the mission of the organization, adherence to its Core Values, and fostering its operational and financial success in its service to those in need. * Participate and collaborate with administration, physicians and clinical representatives in developing the nursing home’s mission, strategic plans, budgets, resource allocation, operation plans and policy making decisions. * Develop, implement and evaluate programs to promote recruitment, retention, development and continuing education of nursing staff members and other staff as necessary to promote quality care delivery. * Participate in planning, promoting and conducting nursing home-wide quality monitoring and improvement actions ensuring compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Ideal Candidate
* Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing or equivalent * Licensed as a Registered Nurse within the State of Alaska * Five (5) years of increasing responsibility in Nursing * Three (3) years as a Charge Nurse, Nurse Manager, or Director of Nursing, including senior nursing administration experience and previous clinical nursing experience working with a Medical Director, physicians, committees and departments **Preferred qualifications for this position include:** * A BSN is strongly recommended with a Master’s Degree in Nursing, Business or Management
