Application Engineer

Prosper is America’s first peer-to-peer lending marketplace, with more than 2 million members and over $5 billion in funded loans. Prosper allows people to invest in each other in a way that is financially and socially rewarding. On Prosper, borrowers list loan requests between $2,000 and $35,000 and individual lenders invest as little as $25 in each loan listing they select. Prosper handles the servicing of the loan on behalf of the matched borrowers and investors.

We are seeking a resourceful, reliable and talented Application Engineer to join the technology team and be responsible for development and integration of internal business applications and cloud services. The ideal candidate is passionate about automation of internal process and workflows and has experience building and managing application stack. * Implements architectures/solutions that satisfy project requirements and provide future leverage. * Reviews and analyzes business application requirements to provide technical feasibility and delivery scope. * Ability to work full stack for small scale deployments. This includes presentation, business logic and database layers. * Ability to automate and orchestrate autonomous cloud systems using API’s. * Adheres to project schedules and reporting during development and construction phases. * Designs/Builds/Tests/Deploys service oriented integrations and builds orchestrations. * Establishes monitoring and service level goals for applications and services. * Builds failsafe mechanisms for service continuity. * Supports applications during normal business and off-hours. * Ability to articulate technical system structures to technical and non-technical audiences * Works independently in a fast-paced environment and balances multiple priorities and projects. * Effectively collaborates with project team members to deliver solutions on time.

* 3-5 Years of relevant experience in applications development and maintenance * 3+ years experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, XML, Java or .Net or RoR or PHP * Mid-Sr. level experience with Intranet/CMS/Framework platforms such as Confluence, Sharepoint, Jive OR Django * Experience with relational databases (MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server) * Experience with support tools (ServiceNow, JIRA) * Experience supporting/implementing Financial and HRIS SaaS architectures (NetSuite, Workday) * Experience with Web UI Design principles and design * Tools and automation development (bash, PowerShell, VB or Python) * Experience in implementing n-tier application solutions using various API’s and middleware technologies * Familiar with web and database technologies such as SQL Server, Tomcat, JBoss, Weblogic, IIS, Oracle, or SharePoint * Familiar with source code control tools such as CVS, Subversion, or Perforce
