Summary
ProQuest’s Research Tools group is hiring a Senior Product Manager to support our Research Tools suite including Pivot & RefWorks Products. Pivot is a leading tool for identifying funding opportunities and researcher collaboration; RefWorks is one of the world’s leading Reference and Citation Management tools. This challenging Product Management role is charged with creating business, product and sales strategies and product requirements in an agile environment as well as supporting new sales, migration and customer renewal needs. This role will work within a highly matrixed organization and require strong relationships and clear communications to win. This role is responsible for leading Pivot growth and will have a key contribution in the overall growth of RefWorks, Pivot and the broader Research Tools portfolio of solutions. We operate as a team and prioritize our work and product management resources on the greatest opportunities and challenges, whether they be with Pivot or RefWorks.
Responsibilities
* Develop strategies and tactics for funding, researcher networking, citation and workflow tools * Develop a data driven view of usage, engagement, the external environment and financial performance to support recommendations * Consider and recommend pathways to extend the impact of Pivot and RefWorks within the customer’s workflow * Develop funding content growth recommendations and integration partnership proposals to strengthen renewals and new sales especially outside of North America * Responsible for product management of Pivot including product roadmaps, product requirements, product and feature prioritization, successfully managing the product development process throughout the product lifecycle – be a main contributor to these areas for RefWorks * Work with Product Marketing to develop positioning and collateral materials for products. * Drive development of sales enablement materials, tools and practices * Demo and present the products for customers and at events * Become a thought leader within and outside the company on research funding, researcher networking and workflow tools * Direct and collect market research as needed to support business plans and product strategy.
Ideal Candidate
**What you will need to be successful:** * Bachelors’ degree or higher in related field, plus 3 to 5 years relevant work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience. * Demonstrated experience in leading SaaS / cloud based product management. * Business / product management experience with professional / scientific networking & collaboration or citation / reference management products * Excellent research, quantitative analysis, and problem solving skills, including the ability to analyze, compare, evaluate, reconcile and order data. * A strong understanding of the academic research market, publishing, research funding process. * Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to professionally interact with a diverse blend of personalities to reach resolution and maintain strong relationships across teams and geographies. * Experience implementing and using Google Analytics, Adobe or other web analytics tools to drive product decision making, customer insights and usage awareness * Enterprise software product experience * Experience in data science, statistics, machine learning, data mining and visualization tools **Ancillary Qualifications:** MBA preferred **Other important information about this position:** * This position can work out of Ann Arbor, MI. * Around 15% travel is required. * This position requires weekday (Monday - Friday) attendance with some scheduling flexibility available around core working hours. * Every position requires certain physical capabilities.
