Responsibilities
* Partner with subject matter experts in actuarial and/or risk functions to capture as-is, to-be and gaps for relevant processes and platforms * For relevant subject areas, identify complete business process lifecycle and decompose component processes, data and system interactions * Identify major deliverables and process improvements in actuarial/risk systems implementations * Recommend appropriate processes, data and tools to accomplish business goals * Liaise with software vendors to identify and implement improvements to software as needed * Design process and data flows for relevant systems * Liaise with multiple functional teams to determine best design, troubleshoot issues and ensure proper controls * Provide technical guidance and support to the business and development teams, mentor other team members. * Potentially assist in the implementation of actuarial and/or risk models in statistical or modeling tools * Review current and future system architectures and make recommendations for improvements
Ideal Candidate
**Basic Qualifications** * Experience using statistical modeling software * Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Computer Science or related field * Insurance or Financial Services industry experience * Strong communication, organization and performance execution skills * Strong problem solving, research and analytical skills. * Ability to understand processes end-to-end at both macro and granular levels, and clearly communicate relevant concepts to multiple audiences * Firm understanding of the software development life cycle and implementation approaches * Working knowledge of relational databases design * Working knowledge of actuarial processes and terminology **Preferred Qualifications** * Experience with GGY Axis, MG Alfa, SAS or other statistical / modeling products * Familiarity with actuarial models - valuation, projection and experience studies * Experience with LTC, life insurance and/or annuity valuation, projection and experience studies systems
