Product Design Specialist

**ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES** **Product Design – Softgoods** - a. Will take lead role in design of Sport Bag product category - b. Responsible for conception, research, design and designing to cost for the whole of the PGS bag business - c. Support in overall design direction for footwear and apparel development products - d. Required to study, analyze and identify trends in the market place and apply them to products during the design and development phases of the commercialization process - e. Responsible for seasonal color trending and exploration **Product Graphics – Racquet Sports** - a. Responsible for creating design solutions that have high visual impact across all hardgoods categories (including but not limited to tennis racquets, squash racquets, racquetball racquets, paddles, etc…) - b. Delivering completed design briefs and artwork as needed for the production of commercial goods - c. Will work with Technical Design Manager to implement graphic concepts to final production designs - d. Integrating feedback from both internal teams and external teams within the PGS organization - e. Required to study, analyze and identify trends in the market place and apply them to products during the design and development phases of the commercialization process Assumes responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships and coordination with Company personnel and with management. Assumes responsibility for related duties as required or assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS** **EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:** Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Graphic Design or equivalent combination of education and experience. **REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE:** - Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in product design - Intermediate to advanced tennis skill preferred **SKILLS/ABILITIES:** - Strong visual and conceptual creativity. - Strong sketching & Illustrator capabilities to communicate design intent and construction. - Knowledge of soft goods construction techniques, materials and hardware. - Ability to multi-task and work in a team environment. - Ability to problem solve and work within deadlines. - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Extensive computer knowledge and proficiency including: - a. Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign - b. Microsoft Office Suite - c. 3D Modeling Software a plus (Catia or similar) - Ability to use graphic arts tools and supplies including: printed mockups, presentation boards, carton mockups, misc. design assembly. - Domestic and International travel required.
