Software Engineer (Java)

Priceline gives travelers the inside track to travel deals and discounts. With their exclusive deal search technology, priceline aims to deliver more ways to save on airline tickets, hotel rooms, rental cars, vacation packages and cruises than anyone else.

The software engineer will be responsible for development of Customer Service system and processes.

* Delivering high-quality software on a frequent basis * Design and develop browser-based tools to automate workflows as well as access, process, and visualize data * Build, design, implement and maintain new systems and services within the customer service group * Customize current and new system and tools to fit the company needs * Participate in code reviews, evaluate implementations, and provide feedback about potential tool improvements.

* Ability to quickly learn new technologies * Ability to develop simple, elegant solutions to complex problems * Comfortable with various web client technologies: JavaScript, Ajax, HTML, DHTML, CSS, HTTP. * Comfortable with SQL, and using Oracle and/or MySQL relational databases. * Able to demonstrate strong problem solving skills. * Excellent written/communication skills, and the ability to work effectively across multiple teams. * A strong work ethic, the ability to keep complex tasks organized, and an amazing attention to detail. * Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently. **Required Experience:** * Expert experience in Java * Web application development. (HTML, JavaScript, XML, CSS) * Expertise in Java Server Pages (JSP) * Experience using and writing Web Service APIs: REST, XML, JSON * Familiar with one or more of the JavaScript Frameworks: Angular JS, jQuery. * Experience with Eclipse and GIT * 2 plus years of relevant experience plus a Bachelor's degree required, OR a Masters Degree plus 1 year of relevant experience.
