Software Engineer

Priceline gives travelers the inside track to travel deals and discounts. With their exclusive deal search technology, priceline aims to deliver more ways to save on airline tickets, hotel rooms, rental cars, vacation packages and cruises than anyone else.

Design, code and implement software solutions that constitute the middle tier and backend of Airline product. Maintain and support various JAVA, JSP, and JSON based applications. Identify areas of improvement within current applications and lead the effort to implement changes. Coordinate software deploys that have a dependency across different teams. Lead integration projects with external affiliates. Assist internal and external teams to resolve technical issues. Establish rapport and communications with peers.

**Requirements**: * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related technical field and 2 years of experience related to software engineering. * Requires OO design skills, and knowledge of JAVA related technologies (JDBC/SERVLET/JSP/EJB) and XML; * SQL and experience using Oracle and MySql relational databases. * Experience working with SVN/Eclipse. * Knowledge of best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing and deployment. * Must have analytical abilities and proven design skills. **Depending on specific role, the following experience/skills may also be required:** * Java, Servlet and JSP development skills; Experience with JDBC, EJB, and XML (parsers, XML schema); * Experience developing server side and web-based applications; * Experience with SML and JSON (parsers, Schema etc.); * Knowledge of SQL and RDBMS using Oracle and MySql databases.
