Summary
The Database team at Priceline.com is looking for Senior Data Security Admin/ DBA responsible for implementing, monitoring and managing all aspects of Data Security and ensuring compliance to PCI, SOX and internal and external security standards/requirements for data stored on multiple platforms and technologies including Oracle, MySQL, Hadoop, Cassandra, and MongoDB.
Responsibilities
Candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating and ensuring all database and systems have critical security patches applied in a timely fashion, managing user privileges and access methods, hardening databases as per standards, auditing sensitive data flows into and out of the databases, setting up realtime alerting mechanisms for monitoring exceptions, applying remedial/ escalation actions and maintaining compliance for SOX, PCI and other internal security standards and audits. The Security Engineer will need to coordinate closely with Security team, Software engineers, System engineers, Architects, technology leads from IT, product and engineering teams to identify requirements, PII and PCI data flows, access paths and help design, build and maintain high level of data security. * Building and configuring new databases, applying patches and upgrading existing databases to new versions or platforms, applying system patches to underlying servers * Managing user privileges and access as per policy and standards, ensure security compliance as per standards, auditing exceptions. * Review, build, configure and manage alerting mechanism to audit security violations, unusual activity etc. Investigate security alerts, develop document remedial procedures and solutions, escalate issues to Security team and management * Provide support for Auditors (SOX, PCI) followup and coordinate implementation of Audit recommendations * PII data management and data governance * Set up and maintain viable ad secure database backups. Maintain and test failover and disaster recovery procedures * Review, maintain and publish database standards with Security team * Manage database licensing, perform periodic internal reviews, support and manage vendor requests for License audits * Evaluating and testing new database technologies and tools to meet data security and business challenges * Develop scripts and jobs to automate database management functions including data loads, database builds, maintenance, tuning and monitoring of databases * Review, tune and implement DDL and DML scripts in QA and Production * Provide support to software engineers and data architects with database changes, troubleshooting and testing new database features * Provide DBA support for Oracle E business suite of applications * Database monitoring and Performance tuning to ensure scalability and availability of databases * Develop and maintain database deployment standards and best practices
Ideal Candidate
Candidate will also be expected to provide on call production support for multiple environments including Oracle, Mysql, Cassandra, Hadoop and MongoDB databases. * Bachelors in Computer Science or equivalent with minimum 3 years experience managing databases and implementing Data Security * DBA experience managing Oracle, Mysql, Hadoop, Cassandra or MongoDB databases preferred * Experience managing Oracle Financials and Hyperion * Experience working with and managing databases in a 24x7 online environment is essential * Strong SQL skills required, working knowledge of Linux shell scripting, scheduling cron jobs, basic troubleshooting etc. Knowledge of Perl or Python for scripting preferred
