Summary
The Assembly Supervisor is responsible for directing the activities of employees on the production floor. They will ensure that the production department meets goals by scheduling employees and reducing inefficiencies on the floor. This may include (but is not limited to): purchasing new equipment, developing new production methods, training workers, and assisting hiring new employees.
Responsibilities
* Supervise employees who assemble mechanical units or fabricated parts at floor stations to make subassemblies or complete units using hand tools and light power tools and equipment. * Ensure that the fitting, alignment, calibration and adjustment of parts and mechanisms meet tolerances and product operating requirements. * Monitor and supervise repairs to units, structures and products that have failed to meet requirements. * Reduce costs by eliminating scrap and waste in the manufacturing of products by: reviewing work orders, production specifications, technical instructions, facility requirements, tool requisition, equipment, and supplies needed * Responsible for the coordination and supervision of employees in a recognized production or manufacturing unit. * Review work orders, production specifications, technical instructions, facility requirements, tool requisition, equipment, and supplies for section. * Coordinate the day-to-day operations of a group of employees assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, directing efforts and providing technical guidance on more complex issues.
Ideal Candidate
**Required Skills:** * Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint skills are required. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to supervise and lead activities of workers within the organization. * Willingness to train employees and help them overcome obstacles and problems throughout the job. **Required Experience and Education:** * 5-7 years of Aerospace Assembly experience * High School Diploma or higher
