Responsibilities
* Operates in compliance with all health, safety, and environmental rules and regulations. * Communicates plants operating goals to operating personnel and lead the message in such a way that the plants goals are clearly identifiable to and owned by Operating Personnel, and operating with a belief that Continuous Quality Improvement is possible. * Ensures that the daily operations are managed and ran in a manner that Safety, Environmental, Quality, Production and Cost Control Goals are met. * Identifying ways to make plant tasks more productive, more meaningful and more efficient. * Accountable for the operations of the facility in the absence of the Plant Manager. * Fully disclosing all necessary and relevant plant issues to the Plant Manager. * Actively engaging plant personnel in the process of Continuous Quality Improvement and Customer Satisfaction. * Taking active leadership roles in areas such as Behavior Based Safety, Hazard Identification, Quality Identification, and Procedure writing. * Participate with Plant Management in the maintenance of company records in a manner compliant with operating permits or federal laws. * Routinely monitor environmental conditions in the plant and take appropriate investigative and corrective actions and make timely notifications. * Participate in corporate/plant-wide HSE, Quality, and Productivity initiatives.
Ideal Candidate
* B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline is preferred. * Minimum of 3-5 years of operations experience in a manufacturing environment with direct supervisory experience. * Leadership skills to develop all employees individually and as a team in a progressive work environment. * Strong mechanical aptitude. * Strong interpersonal skills. * Strong computer skills with emphasis on Microsoft and SAP * Knowledge of HSE procedures including OSHA, EPA, and other HSE standards and regulations. * Knowledge of Quality and Environmental standards such as ISO 9001 & 14001
