About PPD

PPD is a leading global contract research organization providing comprehensive, integrated drug development, laboratory and lifecycle management services. Our clients and partners include pharmaceutical, biotechnology, medical device, academic and government organizations.

Responsibilities
  • Composes, word processes, proofreads, and spell checks sponsor correspondence and other study related documents for Project Manager and IRB submittal
  • Submits documents to IRB as needed (includes initial submission and any updates to study)
  • Assists supervisor in oversight of staff and assuring departmental timelines are met. Is available to Project Assistants as a resource for assistance with job-related issues. Acts as back-up for supervisor when he/she is not available
  • Assists in creating/updating manual for Project Assistants. Assists in updating all departmental documents
  • Audits study files to ensure all project documents are accounted for and no incorrectly filed documents exist in the file
  • Enters, updates, maintains, and tracks project data in the Oracle database
Ideal Candidate

Education and Experience:

  • Associates degree in a business related field
  • Completion of a medical terminology course
  • 3-4 years of administrative support experience with emphasis on word processing database entry, spreadsheet usage, and detailed filing (applicable clinical research experience can be substituted for part of administrative support experience)
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience that provides the individual with the required knowledge, skills and abilities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience working with an IRB
  • MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Knowledge of other computer software and programs where applicable
  • Excellent typing skills
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize efficiently
  • Must be self-motivated and possess a positive attitude and maturity
  • Must be able to handle confidential information appropriately
  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Ability to work with clients and different levels of employees in a professional manner
