Through affiliates in 250 cities and partnerships with thousands of nonprofits and corporations, Points of Light engages more than 4 million volunteers in 30 million hours of service each year bringing the power of people to bear where it matters most. **Position Overview:** generationOn is seeking a driven and creative Marketing & Communications Manager to lead a strategic and integrated approach to advance the generationOn mission and story. This role is key to supporting engagement, partnerships, and fundraising. An innovative and highly creative approach is required to leverage generationOn’s stories, campaigns, programs and events.
Responsibilities
**Marketing and Communications** * Develop and execute a comprehensive marketing and communications strategy that will enhance the generationOn brand and audience (teachers, parents, youth development workers and teens) engagement * Develop a highly creative approach to digital media which is consistent with the generationOn style and strategy * Develop strategies to engage more people and grow social media audiences * Coordinate media interest in generationOn by building relationships with PR firms and key media liaisons * Develop content and manage constituent communications including newsletters, blogs and text platform * Establish a cohesive and effective approach to internal communications and information sharing **Analytical Planning** * Develop systems and processes to facilitate monitoring and tracking, and use this information to directly inform future communications & marketing initiatives * Manage mixed media options to engage various audiences **Relationship Management** * Collaborate directly with programs management team to ensure that content is informed by the most vibrant of generationOn stories * Contribute to strategic decision-making on generationOn initiatives and issues * Build strong collaborative relationships with Points of Light Marketing & Communications to ensure integration and amplification across the organization * Supervise xx associate team, ensuring clear expectations, team integration and skill building * Manage several projects concurrently, demonstrating flexibility and agility
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree required * 5 years of relevant experience with demonstrated success in Marketing, Communications, Media or a related field. * Creative and Conceptual: Demonstrated ability to work strategically and initiate, bringing a highly creative, flexible, ‘can do’ approach to the role * Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills * Digital and technical expertise, especially in web management, digital media, and social media * Strategic planning and Accountability: demonstrate ability to develop and implement highly integrated approaches to the management of all aspects of marketing & communications * Successful relationship development and management: demonstrate ability to build and manage successful and productive relationships and work collaboratively across programs, internal departments, and external stakeholders * High degree of personal initiative with the desire and ability to meet aggressive strategic goals, and to work independently within an entrepreneurial and creative culture * Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, digital assets, and content management systems
