Software Engineer for Graphics

Pocket Gems develops free-to-play mobile games that are ridiculously fun. Pocket Gems was founded in 2009 by Daniel Terry and Harlan Crystal. Their first products pioneered the free to play mobile games industry and have delighted and entertained millions of players.

We are looking for a Graphics specialist to join our 3D engineering team. As a core member of the team, you'll have the opportunity to architect and build features for our 3D engine and tools that will power graphically rich next-gen mobile games that delight millions of users. To be successful in this role, you will have a strong grasp of graphics programming and practical experience in gaming. You’ll be able to exercise your unique insights into the mobile gaming and advance our capabilities across our platform.

* Implement features to extend the rendering capabilities of the core 3D Engine e.g. Dynamic Lighting * Collaborate with designers on game teams to identify and build technology that powers game features e.g. 3D avatar customization system * Research and development of performance enhancement features and techniques e.g. Instanced drawing * Work closely with artists and drive the development of tools that need to be built for a production quality 3D art pipeline

* 3+ year(s) of practical experience in Graphics Programming * One or more AAA 3D game titles shipped across any platform -- Mobile, Handheld, Console, PC * Strong knowledge of OpenGL pipeline and ability to write high performance shaders * BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent * Working knowledge of iOS, Android, Unity, Unreal Engine, or comparable preferred * A burning desire to push the boundaries of mobile graphics
