Job Summary
The Originations Analyst will provide financial modeling support to the originations and underwriting teams, along with flex support to the broader executive team. We are looking for an Excel whiz who is also eager to participate in many areas of building a successful business from the ground up, doing whatever it takes to move the team forward. You have the opportunity to apply your strong analytical skills while also exercising creativity and forward thinking to improve efficiency and processes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare Excel-based financial models from cash flow statements, rent rolls and borrower financial statements in order to determine a borrower’s ability to qualify for financing.
- Develop internal deal memos for credit review committee.
- Prepare statistical and property analytics reports for publication to clients.
- Consistently seek opportunities to improve existing model architecture and build better financial tools for Plum.
- Bachelors degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field.
- 1-2 years experience at a brokerage firm, investment bank, private bank, or other financial services firm.
- Sophisticated Excel modeling skills.
- Interested in learning about commercial real estate originations, underwriting and analysis.
- Strong problem solving, critical thinking and organizational abilities.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Unequivocally detail-oriented with the ability to multitask and balance time-sensitive priorities.
- Highly motivated with capacity to learn quickly and execute accurately.
- Collaborative and curious with the desire to tackle a variety of tasks in addition to the core financial modeling work.
