Summary
Planned Parenthood Federation of America (PPFA), the nation’s leading reproductive health care advocate, seeks a sql server database developer to work as part of the Business Intelligence group. The developer will be responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of an existing sql server databases The developer will work closely with the BI manager, analysts and management to support. This is a 6 months on-site part time engagement in our New York City office.
Responsibilities
* Design and develop new database objects, including tables, stored procedures, views, jobs and SSRS reports * Maintain a mission critical existing sql server database and reporting services. * Serve as a point of contact to ensure system availability and functionality * Ensure and maintain the integrity and security of data * Use of development tools for version control to manage code base and updates as part of a development cycle * Maintain technical and functional documentation of new system requirements and development * Serve as a technical resource for BI team and outside vendors as needed. Ability to turn business requirements to technical specifications. * Participate in regular progress meetings with team and management. Clearly communicate project progress, achievements, dependencies and obstacles * All other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
* Strong verbal and written communication skills. Ability to communicate work progress, challenges and achievements to team and management * Ability to switch between tasks and work on multiple project concurrently * Ability to work with small groups and independently while meeting deadlines * Proven experience in development life cycle * Tolerance of and sensitivity to diversity * Knowledge of healthcare and non-profit businesses a plus **Technical Expertise** * Must have at least 4 years of hands-on proven SQL Server 2012 development experience using Visual Studio in a team setting. * Must have strong hands-on experience writing Transact SQL stored procedures for SharePoint. * Knowledge of Share Point development is a strong plus * Some experience working in a not-for-profit environment is also highly desirable. Eligible applicants will be asked to present and discuss relevant work in person. **Travel** * 0-25%
