Summary
Pixar's RenderMan Products Group is looking for a Web Marketing Specialist. Under the direction of the RenderMan marketing and operational leadership, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining initiatives and content for web-based technical marketing programs including marketing and social media campaigns, monitoring industry and competitive developments, newsletters, product release updates and all promotional messaging. As the primary caretaker of the full website, you will own the online marketing presence for the film industry’s acclaimed rendering technology. This full-time, permanent position is based on-site at Pixar Animation Studios in Emeryville, CA.
Responsibilities
* Design and deploy a continuous flow of materials for RenderMan’s website, online community resources, and reseller portal, ensuring Pixar’s outward facing Internet presence is kept fresh, exciting and visible * Create regular content for email marketing campaigns including newsletters, release emails, and promotions as needed * Monitor, contribute, and continuously develop our social Media presence * Liaise with key RenderMan users and studios to generate new content and marketing materials along with quotes, testimonials, etc * Regularly evaluate the performance of website and associated purchase and support functions, providing feedback to appropriate parties * Perform development and maintenance programming for web pages. Partner with Systems to implement new pages and applications into production * Continuously test all RenderMan websites and online marketing tools for usability and performance, making improvements as needed * Maintain internal sales and marketing Wiki pages ensuring they are kept updated * Work with partner third-party content providers developing content and customer training in support of technical marketing objectives
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree in graphic design, web development, computer science, and/or equivalent experience. * Minimum 3 years professional experience in web design in a commercial product environment. (Note: This role requires examples of your web marketing work as a part of the application process. Please provide information to your personal website or a list sites showcasing your work and your contributions to the site.) * A high degree of expertise in the design and layout of internal/external web pages including graphics, animation functionality, user interface graphics, icons, color schemes. * Excellent written and authorial skills with a proven ability to communicate complex concepts in production rendering technology to both technical and non-technical audiences. * Video-editing expertise for creating online content highly desirable. * Knowledge of typical 3D content creation tools, such as Maya, 3ds max, Cinema4D, Houdini, Mudbox, Zbrush etc, highly desirable. RenderMan experience a major plus. * Extensive knowledge of web authoring solutions with demonstrated abilities in HTML, JavaScript, CSS, Photoshop etc. * Proficient with OS X, Red Hat Linux, UNIX, Windows. * Knowledge of filmmaking and/or computer graphics fundamentals preferred. * Travel requirements are not significant for this position. (1-2 weeks a year maximum) * Proof of legal authority to accept employment in the U.S. is required
