Summary
Our open position focuses on enhancing and supporting Pixar’s software development build and release process. You’ll work with an agile, customer-oriented team that provides a key service to the studio and cultivates a can-do and playful environment.
Responsibilities
* Develop and support internal tools related to software configuration/deployment, software build, continuous integration, and release automation * Maintain the RPM distributions for the development environment and enhance the tools around that system * Provide direct support to developers with regards to build errors and revision control issues
Ideal Candidate
* Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, and a desire to help others solve technical problems * Strong attention to detail, curiosity, and a willingness to learn * BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience * Minimum of 2 years experience required in release engineering, systems administration, DevOps, or Unix/Linux software development, with particular focus on the following areas: * Make/SCons/cmake or other software build frameworks * Python and Unix shell (bash, csh) scripting * Expert-level experience using revision control systems like Perforce or git * Systems-administration-level experience with Linux * Experience with RPM, yum, or other package management systems common on Linux * Databases and SQL, particularly with MySQL or Oracle * Experience writing or maintaining a build system for a large open-source project written in C++ or a similar language (such as a Linux distribution) * Experience using virtualization/containerization technologies such as OpenVZ or docker * Experience with cloud service providers like AWS * Experience working on infrastructure/pipeline projects for an animation or VFX production studio
